Journal Entries 2012-2013

A proper journal entry must be dated, written in a complete sentence, and have proper capitalization and punctuation.

Example of an incorrect journal entry answering the question:  'What are your goals for this year?'

Incorrect:   "To get good grades."    Why?  Not a complete sentence
                   "my goal is to get good grades."    Why?  No capitalization.
                   "My goal is to get good grades"    Why?  No period.
Correct:    "My goal this school year is to get good grades."

Thursday, September 6--Give two or three of your goals for this school year.  Your goals can be either school-related or not, but give at least one school goal.
Friday, September 7 --  What has been the best vacation you have ever gone on?  What would your dream vacation be, if money were no object?
Monday, September 10-- How important are you personally to world history?  Explain your answer.
Tuesday, September 11--Give two or three facts about 9/11/2001.   If you can remember where you were and what you were doing, add that as well.
Wednesday, September 12--Write an epitaph that could fit you. 
Thursday, September 13-- Using the map in the book on page A-12, what is the latitude and longitude of Paris, France?  Use a complete sentence.
Friday, September 14--How can you tell if something you see, hear, or read is true or not?  Explain.
Monday, September 17--How do you learn best, by reading, hearing, or seeing?  Explain.
Tuesday, Septermber 18--What is one strategy that you use to study for tests and quizzes?
Wednesday, September 19--No Journal.  Test Day.
Thursday, September 20--Using the map in the book on page A-11, what is the latitude and longitude of Athens, Greece?
Friday, September 21--What homecoming activities are you participating in?

Wednesday, September 26--What are some obstacles (hardships) you have had to overcome?

Thursday, May 16--Do you agree with Martin Luther's three main beliefs as given in today's lesson? Why or why not?  You may agree with none of them, some of them, or all of them, but say why?  (You'll need to check the notes for his three goals)
Monday, May 20--How many years/centuries do you think it will take before human beings colonize other planets?  Why?
Tuesday, May 21--Would curing all diseases and prolonging life to 120 years improve the earth or hurt it?  Why?
Wednesday, May 22--If you had the opportunity to go on a one-way space mission to colonize a distant planet, with a 50% chance of success, would you go?  Why or why not?
